Happy Easter to all of our parishioners along with their family and friends who are visiting this weekend! This joyous celebration affirms our faith in our Lord Jesus' triumph over the powers of sin and death. The Resurrection of our Lord and the redemption of our whole personhood (body, mind, and spirit) is the reason for our hope. Sin and death will not prevail in us when we remain in the grace and protection of our Lord Jesus!
This past Holy Week we have celebrated the Triduum liturgies which have given us a proximate preparation for Easter, especially for our catechumens and candidates whom we welcome into full communion with our Catholic Church this Easter. I am so inspired by their faith and love for the Lord! As a priest who hears hundreds of confessions in the Lenten season, I have to admit that there is a deep hunger in people's hearts for true faith, authenticity, healing, and intimacy. I recognized this hunger more this year than in any other years as a young priest. I know from my own personal experience that the Lord loves when we place that hunger in His hands. Do you trust that He can fill that hunger in you? We are not meant to return to our sins after being healed, but to trust more fully in His mercy and redemption. That's the good news of Easter.
Please know how much I love being here with you. If there's anything I, Fr. Spisak, Deacon Phil, or Deacon Bob can assist you with, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here for you!
