Dear Parish Family,
Today we celebrate Christ the King Sunday! As King of the universe, all creation is ordered under the peaceful reign of Jesus Christ. Jesus reigns with truth and love. As Jesus says to Pontius Pilate in today's Gospel, "Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My voice." Choosing Christ as King means that we strive to live in sync with the truth of Christ in all areas of our humanity and relationships. This last week of Ordinary Time, reflect on how your life aligns with the truth Christ proclaims, and move back to Him wherever you find yourself falling into the lies of temptation and sin.
 
We would like to start a new outreach to homebound parishioners at St. Patrick's with multiple levels of involvement. First, we need to know if you or fellow parishioners or neighbors are unable to come to church due to age or health reasons so that we can update our list. Second, we'd like to connect parishioners who would simply like to send a card to one of our homebound parishioners periodically. Last, if you know someone who is homebound and you wouldn't mind bringing communion to them, please let me know. There are some simple ways we can strengthen our bonds as members of the Body of Christ. It means so much to those who cannot come to church to stay connected with their parish family. Immaculate Conception - A Holy Day of Obligation
Please note that the Christmas letter mailed to families was incorrect. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception was transferred from Sunday to Monday, December 9 and it IS a holy day of obligation. This was clarified after our Christmas mailer went out, and I apologize for the miscommunication. We will celebrate Immaculate Conception on Monday, December 9 at St. Patrick's with Mass at 7:00 pm, and at St. Mary's with Masses at 7:30 am, 9:30 am (with the School), and 7:30 pm.
 
We will celebrate Thanksgiving Mass this Thursday at 8:45 am at St. Patrick's and at 9:00 am at St. Mary's. When coming to St. Mary's please remember that the Turkey Trot has some route closures from Chardon Square to 5th Avenue. 
 
I will be away for Thanksgiving on a family trip this year. I've asked Fr. Fabian to write the next two bulletin columns. I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving!
