Parents Matter: Part 3
Dear Parish Family,
Today we celebrate Priesthood Sunday and reflect on the blessing of the priesthood in our lives. I know I would not be a priest today if it weren't for the incredible witness of pastoral charity shown by priests who have been good shepherds and fathers to me in my life.
All Saints Day and Mass of Remembrance
All Saints Day, November 1, is a Holy Day of Obligation. Celebrate Mass on Wednesday, November 1 at 8:45 am or at 7:00 pm. We are also celebrating a Mass of Remembrance on Saturday, November 4 at the 4:00 pm Vigil Mass to commemorate our faithful departed for whom we celebrated the Funeral Rites of the Church in this past year. All families who have lost loved ones are invited to celebrate this Mass with us for all of our beloved who have gone to rest in the peace of Christ.
New Rectory Town Hall Meetings
You are invited to a special presentation to learn more about the proposal to build a new rectory for our priests on the St. Mary parish grounds. Come to a town hall meeting in the St. Mary Parish Banquet Room on either Friday, November 10 at 4:00 pm, or Tuesday, November 14 at 7:00 pm. The presentation will last about a half hour with time for parishioners from St. Patrick and St. Mary Parish to provide input and ask questions. I kindly ask for your participation in this process as we develop our plans. Please RSVP to the St. Mary Parish Office (440-285-7051) ahead of time if you're able so we know how many tables and chairs to set up.
Holy Land Pilgrimage
Our tour group, Trinity Tour Travels, is monitoring the current situation in the Holy Land. Please mark your calendars for a special presentation on Sunday, November 5 at 3:00 pm in the Banquet Room at St. Mary's. Eddie from Trinity Tour Travels and I will be there to review the trip and meet fellow travelers. If you are interested in the trip or are on the waiting list, you can come to learn more.
I am yours in Christ,
Fr. Scott Goodfellow
