Our mission is to serve our parish family by providing the best music possible, enhancing our prayer and giving glory to God. We seek to provide music that is appropriate for Catholic liturgy, engaging our assembly in full and active participation in responses, acclamations and inspired songs.
“The Lord has blessed me with musical talent that I have been able to share for 38+ years. I am honored that Fr. Scott believes in me! I believe the glass is half full, not half empty. I love to make people smile, touch someone’s heart, and inspire one to be their best!”
“He who sings,” said St. Augustine, “prays twice.” The holy Bishop of Hippo meant that singing adds to our praise and worship of God—that our voices are gifts, with which we can make music to the Lord. Sung prayer expresses the joy of the heart, the happiness resulting from one who has encountered Jesus Christ and experienced his love. Sung prayer reminds us of the choirs of Heaven, with whom we are called to praise God eternally in Heaven.
The Second Vatican Council taught that, “liturgical worship is given a more noble form when the divine offices are celebrated solemnly in song, with the assistance of sacred ministers and the active participation of the people.” When the sacred liturgy is sung, it becomes more beautiful, and more reflective of the beauty of the Most Blessed Trinity. Christians have sung in sacred liturgy since the Church’s earliest days.
Pope St. John Paul II prayed that every Catholic, by “expressing their faith harmoniously and solemnly in song, will experience its richness ever more fully and will abide by the commitment to express its impulses in their daily life.

You need to enjoy music and singing!
No experience is necessary.
You need to have some basic ability to sing. That includes being able to reproduce a pitch you hear, learn rhythms, and be able to learn your part if you are singing harmony.
Reading music is not required, but helpful.
One should be punctual and reliable.
The successful Choir Member should possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work well in a team environment. Respect the needs of choir members and support them as necessary.
One should be able to take direction, be open to new ideas and be able to take responsibility for their own performance.
Although there will be exceptions to the rule, our goal is 2 rehearsals a month with 9:30am Mass on Sundays.
